Welder in Sweden
Trond Erik lives with his family in Vänersborg, Sweden, but is from Kråkebyen, where he has an office when he's not out visiting customers who need advice on their insulation projects. But how did he end up in the insulation business, really?
‘I've always been interested in motors and screwing,’ he recalls of his younger days. After a stint as a welder in Sweden, where he met the girl who would become his better half, a chance job opportunity brought him into the insulation industry.
‘It wasn't a dream of mine to become an insulator, but I had no doubt that I would end up in a field where I use my hands,’ he reflects.

From project management to sales
Trond Erik joined Kaefer as a fitter in 1996. The helpful and hard-working insulator gradually climbed the ranks to foreman and project manager. After 23 years, he moved on to Isopartner.
‘Being a project manager is an incredibly fun, but also at times demanding job, which was challenging in the life situation I was in at the time. The sales job at Isopartner gave me the balance I needed and was a natural transition for me, where I could continue to contribute my expertise in technical insulation.’

A day in the life of a key account manager
As Key Account Manager at Isopartner, no two days are the same for Trond Erik. He handles everything from technical advice to customer meetings, and places great emphasis on honesty and reliability towards customers.
“Doing what you've promised and standing by what you've said” are the core values he stands for in his work.

The future of the insulation industry
Trond Erik is optimistic about the future of technical insulation, as the need will only increase as energy efficiency requirements are tightened. Nevertheless, he sees challenges related to recruitment to the industry. He emphasizes the need to make the profession more attractive and accessible to young people, and sees Isopartner's role as crucial in raising awareness of the field.
Podcast anchor
As one of the early drivers of the podcast Isolert sett, which was launched in the fall of 2023, and as a regular anchor in the studio, Trond Erik is helping to raise awareness of the insulation profession.
“I think it's engaging because we hit our subject very well. And it has ripple effects in the form of invitations to give lectures on technical insulation,” he says.
