This is Ultimate
Ultimate is a non-combustible mineral wool product that has been developed based on the glass wool technology from Saint-Gobain ISOVER.
Ultimate is spun in the same way as glass wool. This means that it has the long fibers that make wool flexible, so it can be compressed without losing its shape, structure and insulation properties.
- Ultimate has the best properties of stone wool when it comes to fire, and the best properties of glass wool when it comes to thermal insulation, flexibility, weight and sound insulation,” says Henrik Stene, Product Manager at Glava.
Ultimate U Protect wired mat
U Protect Wired Mat 4.0 ALU1 is designed for fire insulation of circular and rectangular ducts (HVAC) and is coated with black alufoil and mesh. In addition to its fire protection properties, Ultimate also has acoustic and thermal properties.
The mesh mat provides up to two hours of fire protection, both for supply and extract ducts (for external and internal fire exposure). The product has Euroclass A2-s1,d0 and can therefore be used anywhere in buildings in accordance with Tek17. The product has been tested and approved for both horizontal and vertical ducts in accordance with the NS-EN 1366-1 test standard.
The table shows the thicknesses to be used for different duct types and fire resistance. Circular ducts with fire resistance EI30 should be insulated with 50mm (supply and extract), and with 80mm for EI60. If you only need to insulate the supply air, you can reduce the thickness significantly, as shown in the table below.
