Industry needs better insulation to save energy and reduce CO₂ emissions

As a neutral, not-for-profit organization, EiiF promotes good insulation that does more than increase sustainability; it should pay to insulate properly.

EiiF comprises more than 50 leading industrial insulation companies ranging from global players to SMEs and consultants.

EiiF meets the decision makers

To raise awareness of the savings potential of industrial insulation, EiiF participates in high-level meetings with policy makers, EU parliamentarians, national politicians and business leaders. It is an effective arena for promoting energy efficiency at EU and national level.

EiiF gives presentations on energy efficiency at industry-related conferences and exhibitions. They are engaged in EU working groups such as IED Article 8, SFEM (Sector Forum Energy Management), EEFIG (Energy Efficiency Financial Institutions Group) and BREF.

Helping industry choose the right insulation

EiiF has established itself as a resource for industries that need to reduce CO₂ emissions and save energy.

By improving thermal insulation in industrial installations, the opportunities for both energy savings and CO₂ reduction are increased. This potential is currently untapped despite being cost-effective to introduce.

The various activities raise awareness of the many benefits of technical insulation for industry.

EiiF publishes reports, fact sheets and studies showing how industrial insulation represents a huge savings potential across all regions and sectors.

The Tipcheck program provides industry with tools and solutions to save energy

The Tipcheck program is developed by EiiF. The standardized thermal energy audit tool is in line with EN 16247 and ISO 50002 and evaluates the performance of industrial insulation systems.

The aim is to provide industry with tools and solutions to save energy and reduce CO₂ emissions by improving technical insulation systems.

Within the framework of the Tipcheck program, EiiF offers:

  • Energy audit of insulation
  • Training sessions
  • Inspections
  • Tipcheck tools (calculation software, Tipcheck Creator and Viewer)
  • TBI tools (Tipcheck based inspections)

Benefits of Tipcheck:

Tipcheck identifies the locations with the highest energy-saving potential and provides a quick payback time of usually one year or even less. The scope of a typical Tipcheck usually includes uninsulated wires, wires with damaged insulation and insulated wires.

  • Save energy
  • Save money
  • Contribute to a cleaner environment through reduced CO₂ emissions
  • Streamlining and improving processes
  • Minimize safety risks for personnel and equipment

Tipcheck is carried out by EiiF and/or certified Tipcheck engineers.

The Keymark certificate will ensure quality

Only when a product delivers on its promise of high quality can the expected energy savings be delivered. The best way to ensure high quality is through independent third-party testing.

EiiF is involved in the work with Keymark. It is a voluntary European quality mark for products and services in accordance with European standards. The Keymark certificate is owned by the European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC, and it can only be issued by authorized certification bodies.

Especially for consumers, Keymark stands for real added value, representing high, reliable product quality, tested and confirmed by an independent third party. Keymark also complements CE marking in terms of the products that are legally required to comply with applicable directives, thus serving to increase consumer confidence throughout Europe.
